Meet the Mikes

Mike Fahr

Mike Fahr first began tree work in 1995 alongside his future business partner, James McCleod. The pair formed M&J Tree Services in 1997 and in 1998, James achieved his West Coast Fallers certification, leaving the business to pursue a successful career in forestry. Mike remained in the arboricultural industry, obtaining several certifications for residential and commercial arboriculture.

Over the course of two decades, Mike has completed major projects at many highly challenging, technically advanced job-sites; secured several multi-year contracts with The City of Nanaimo; and pioneered short/long-term tree maintenance and damage prevention plans for regional strata management companies (standardizing annual budgets by identifying potential hazardous tree conditions and compromising root structures).

Throughout his career, Mike has shared his substantial industry knowledge with many aspiring arborists currently enjoying successful careers in arboriculture.

Mike Dixon

With an extensive career in the global natural resource sector, Mike Dixon brings comprehensive mechanical knowledge, heavy-duty equipment operation experience, high-stakes project management and large-scale crew oversight to the company.

This joint venture builds upon a long-standing reputation as Nanaimo’s “friendly neighbourhood tree-guys” — serving central Vancouver Island for over twenty years.
